What is IC³?
IC³ is a standards-based certification program for basic
computing and Internet literacy. It provides specific guidelines for the knowledge
and skills required to be a productive user of computer hardware, software, networks
and the Internet. By establishing this vendor-independent standard, IC³ provides
a reliable, universal measure of basic computing aptitude. IC³ certification
is based on successfully passing three exams: Computing Fundamentals; Key Applications;
and Living Online.
This program was crafted to provide a global standard for basic
computer skills, and was developed with the assistance of over 270 Subject Matter
Experts from 19 countries around the globe. It has been stringently evaluated
and psychometrically validated by top firms to ensure that the exams effectively
measure the basic skills that are increasingly required in a broad range of business
and personal applications.
