Justification for IC³ Certification Workshops

Background
IC³ is a standards-based certification program for basic computing and Internet literacy. It provides specific guidelines for the knowledge and skills required to be a productive user of computer hardware, software, networks and the Internet. By establishing this vendor-independent standard, IC³ provides a reliable, universal measure of basic computing aptitude.

Workshop Description
In Demand Training Solutions is planning a 7 hour IC³ certification workshop in the ______________________ area on _____________________ to be held at _______________________________________.

This workshop provides a unique opportunity to prepare for and take the IC³ exams on site. The exams, administered via the Internet, are given only at authorized iQcenters. In Demand will set up the site as an authorized iQcenter to administer the exams and provide individualized instruction based on the certification objectives. The $310 fee includes three test administrations, normally $33-38 each. Local training resource centers or community colleges do not offer this type of workshop.

Course materials and lunch are included in the cost of the workshop.

Justification
Demonstration of computer and internet competence is increasingly essential for all teachers. Mastery of software, basic hardware and the internet is an essential component for integrating technology into the classroom in all disciplines.
